We didn't build another rear storage box.
We reimagined the back of the van.

Explore the Complete OutBack™ System

worth the wait

worth the wait

The rear doors have always been some of the most valuable real estate on a van. They're strong. They're accessible. And they're where you're already loading

and unloading gear.

The problem wasn't a lack of storage boxes. It was a lack of a complete system.

That's why we built OutBack™.

The Big Box

1

PackOut Compatible
Built around the Milwaukee PackOut standard — the same system already living in your garage and your truck. Snap in. Go.

2

Adjustable Shelving
three shelves — reconfigure the interior around what you're hauling. Tools on Monday. Camp kitchen on Friday

3

Ambidextrous Main Access Door
Left door, right door, or run two butterfly-style. Configure the box around your build, not the other way around.

4

Access Doors
The lower compartment opens from both sides and the front. Grab gear from any angle. Nothing buried. Nothing left behind.

5

DryBox Drain + Vent™ floor
Flip the lower panel up and there's a vented grate underneath. Wet gear drains. Air moves. The muck stays off everything else.

The Big Box

Pack in. PackOut.

Most storage boxes give you a shelf — maybe two. We gave you a grid. The entire interior is built on the Milwaukee PackOut standard — the same ecosystem already living in your garage, your truck, your job site. Snap in what you need, move it when the plan changes, pull it out when you're done.

Adjustable shelves flex to whatever you're hauling — the box adapts to your gear, not the other way around. Tools and equipment Monday. Camp kitchen and recovery gear Saturday. Same box.

DryBox Drain + Vent™

Every adventure ends somewhere — and more often than not, it ends with everything just a little bit dirtier than when things started.

The bottom compartment was built for that reality. Its floor is a flip-up vented grate — water drains out, air moves through, and the muck you dragged back stays off everything else.

Wetsuits. Waders. The recovery strap caked from a trail you'll be telling stories about. This is where the filthy end of a great day rides home. Swing a side door, grab what you need from any angle, let the rest drain on the drive. Rinse the whole thing out when you get home.

The Lil Box

The Lil' Box

1

3.5 Cubic Feet of Storage
Compact outside. Serious inside. 3.5 cubic feet of sealed, lockable storage in a footprint built to share the door.

2

Dual Side Access Doors
Open from both sides & the front face, gear is always reachable, never buried, never sorted through to find what's at the bottom

3

DryBox Drain + Vent™ floor
Same grated drain floor as the Big Box. Finally, all that wet, dirty, still-dripping gear has somewhere to go.

Access made easy.

The Lil' Box runs on one rule: never dig for what you need. Side access doors and a flip-down face open the compartment from three directions — gear stays reachable no matter how it's packed or how fast the last trip ended.

Reach in from wherever's closest. Grab what you came for. The stays hold the face flat when it's down — a built-in shelf for camp prep, a trail workbench, a peanut butter and jelly station at the tailgate.

It's built-in extra space. You'll find a way to use it the way you need it.

Form meets function.

Every Lil' Box starts as a flat sheet of 1/8" aluminum — laser-cut, precision-formed, and TIG-welded by hand, then powder-coated to take years of rock chips, trail dust, and hard use without flinching. Designed and built in North Idaho, start to finish.

The flip-up vented grate floor gives the wet, muddy, and downright nasty stuff somewhere to go. Pair it with the Grid Utility Panel, Frame-Less Carriers, or the Wheel Mount — build exactly the setup your rig needs and nothing more.

Door Carrier Brackets

Every OutBack component rides on these. We minimized the mounting structure to maximize the storage — precision-cut from 1/4" aluminum with four mounting points per factory door, spreading the load across the door structure instead of stressing a single point. Frame-less by design: no bulky cage, no wasted weight, just the smallest footprint that can carry the most.

Grid Utility Panel

A slotted aluminum utility panel that bolts to the Frame-Less Door Carrier Brackets and forms the mounting layer for the Big Box, Lil' Box, and Wheel Mount. Cut to the geometry of each factory door, driver and passenger, and slotted throughout so you can build creatively around it — traction boards, tools, hardware, whatever your rig needs to carry.

Fits Sprinter and Transit door geometry — driver and passenger versions / Primary mounting layer for every OutBack storage component / 1/8" powder-coated aluminum, built start to finish in North Idaho.

Wheel Mount

Full-size spares don't belong buried under the chassis or eating your interior build. The Wheel Mount carries van-spec wheel and tire weight directly on the door, with the load routed through the Frame-Less Door Carrier Brackets and spread across four factory mounting points — right where you can get to it when it matters.

Add the Heavy-Duty Wheel Mount

Door Mount Brackets

Every OutBack™ component rides on our Door Mounts. We maximized the box and minimized the frame — the Door Mounts are so low-profile they all but disappear behind the storage they carry. Precision-cut from 1/4" aluminum, powder-coated, with four mounting points per factory door. The load is distributed across the door structure rather than concentrated at a single stressed point.

Passenger-side brackets include a paddle extension that keeps your factory door handle fully usable behind the box. Brackets are door- and van-specific.

The boxes fit both.

Wheel & Tire Mount

Heavy-Duty Wheel Mount

Most spare carriers hold your wheel with an acme thread and a wing nut. Ours mounts it the way your van does — lugged studs through the wheel's actual mounting flange, the same hardware philosophy proven in the rock-crawler world. It's simply sturdier. No debate.

Full-size van-spec wheels and tires. Load spreads through our Door Mounts across four factory mounting points. Your spare right where you can still reach it — not buried under the chassis, not eating your interior build.

Utility Panel

A precision-slotted aluminum utility panel that forms the mounting layer for the Big Box, Lil' Box, and Wheel Mount — cut to the geometry of each factory door, driver and passenger, and bolted straight to the Door Mounts.

The slots run throughout, so you build around it however your rig demands. Plenty of room for traction boards. Tools. Hardware. Whatever you're carrying, there's a way to mount it.

This is what the rear door game looks like when you engineer it from scratch.

Looking for More?

The OutBack™ didn't start as a product. It started with a decision — to wait until we could do it right, then build something the market had never seen.

Read how we engineered the whole system from the door out, and why "over-engineered" is still the highest compliment we know.
